For the inmates' health care, the general policy is one of “prevention is better than cure.” Besides environmental cleanness and food hygiene,houses should be sterilized at a regular basis, so that environment hygiene is maintained.

For health, check-up of intakes in prison, the ill should be medically cared,and exams of venereal diseases, blood screening, and X-ray should be conducted at a regular basis. So the diseases may be discovered earlier and necessary isolation can be made.Special zone of Medical center is to be set up, with 16 beds. Isolation wards and recuperation wards are available for the severely ill or handicaps. With doctors making their rounds, they are well cared.

Collaboration with Taoyuan General Hospital,doctors of the hospital provide medical and surgical outpatient services for inmates of the prison.For emergency,because of limited equipment,sick patients are sent to the public hospital or if there is evidence of acute chronic illness and upon approval from the related authorities, inmates may be sent out for medical attention.
